Kristen Donnelly, Founder of On Your Own Community
Kristen Donnelly is a data-driven administrative professional with over 20 years of experience in the human services field. As the visionary founder of On Your Own, a unique membership platform dedicated to helping teens develop essential life skills, Kristen is passionate about empowering the next generation to transition into adulthood with confidence and independence. Her deep commitment to children, families, health, and community is reflected in the mission of On Your Own, where teens are given the tools they need to thrive.
Currently, Kristen spends her day on the AMS Team at the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA), where she ensures the quality, integrity, and security of vital databases in the health and community sectors. She also provides technical assistance and support for software systems to vendors, staff, and association members. In addition to managing database-related queries, custom reports, and training, Kristen coordinates event setups and registrations, all while maintaining a focus on continuous learning and improvement.
Prior to her current role, Kristen worked as a Data Services Specialist at MHA, where she contributed to software testing, technical support, and the creation of training materials. Her extensive experience also includes coordinating the Children's Health Access Program (CHAP) at the Ingham Health Plan Corporation, where she built key partnerships and facilitated internal and external program meetings.
Kristen has also held leadership positions at Michigan Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), where she managed volunteer programs, recruitment, and training, and at the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange, where she organized youth advisory boards, newsletters, and adoption recruitment events.
With a heart for helping others and a strong foundation in community building, customer satisfaction, and relationship management, Kristen is driven by her passion to serve. Through On Your Own, she channels her extensive expertise into creating a supportive, educational space for teens, enabling them to develop the life skills they need to succeed.
